Here are 100+ ready-to-use remarks, organised by grade. Copy, paste, replace [Student] with the name, and you're done.
Before You Start: 3 Rules for Good Remarks
1. Be specific, not vague. "Works hard" says nothing. "Consistently submits neat, complete work" says something.
2. One sentence of strength, one sentence of direction. Even the weakest student has something positive. Lead with it.
3. Keep it short. Two sentences is enough. Parents read the grade first and the remark second. It doesn't need to be an essay.

Set up grade-based remarks →Frequently Asked Questions
What should I write in a result card remark?
A good result card remark has two parts: one sentence acknowledging what the student has done well, and one sentence suggesting what to focus on next. Keep it short, specific, and constructive — two sentences is enough.
How long should a result card remark be?
One to two sentences. Parents read the grade first. The remark is context, not a report. If you are writing more than three sentences, it is too long.
Can I use the same remark for multiple students?
Yes — with small adjustments. Replace [Student] with the name and change one specific word or phrase if needed. Using a remark bank like this one is standard practice among teachers.
What do I write for a student who has not passed?
Be constructive, not discouraging. Focus on what the student needs to do — more revision, extra practice, seeking support — rather than what they failed to achieve. The examples in the U grade section above are written specifically with this in mind.
